Ingredients:-
- 1 cup of green mung dal
- 1 cup of yellow skinless mung dal
- 1 small cabbage
- 1 tbsp coconut (just for flavor)
- 1.5 tsp peppercorn
- 1.5 tsp cumin seeds
- 2 sprigs of curry leaves
- Red chilies according to your preference
- 1 lemon sized ball of tamarind (i just ground it)
- Turmeric
- Salt according to your preference
- For tempering mustard seeds, curry leaves, Hing
Process:-
- Wash the dals and pressure cook and set aside
- In a pan dry roast the tempering and then add chopped cabbage, water, salt and turmeric
- In the meanwhile prepare the masala by grinding coconut, curry leaves, cumin seeds, red chilies, peppercorn, tamarind and water
- When the cabbage is 60% cooked at the ground masala, dals, and water to your preferred consistency and simmer it for another 5-8mins
Enjoy with brown rice, roti or grains of your choice.
