Oil free Ragada Patties – protein rich dish

Ingredients:-

Patties:

  • Boiled potatoes – I had almost 8 or 9 red potatoes
  • Salt to taste
  • Chopped cilantro
  • Turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp chat masala
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • Chilli powder to taste
    • Mash all the above ingredients, form patties (as shown in the pics) and roast the patties on a pan or you could air dry them at 350F for 5-7 mins on each side

For the ragada:

  • 6 cups of soaked white peas (soaked in water for at least 6-8hrs)
  • Pressure cook the soaked white peas for 15 mins in the instant pot.
  • Next in the instant pot use the saute mode –
    • saute 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
    • 4 crushed red onions
    • 6 crushed Roma tomatoes
    • Chilli powder to taste
    • Turmeric
    • 1 tbsp Chat masala
    • Garam masala
    • 1 tsp pav bhaji masala
    • 1 tsp Chole masala
      • Saute it for about 20 mins
      • Then add cooked white peas, water to your preference. Alternatively you could add soaked white peas and pressure cook it for 20 mins
      • After it is cooked slightly mash it and add chopped cilantro

For serving:-

In a plate arrange the patties, then add ragada, garnish with finely chopped onions, cilantro, green savory chutney, sweet tamrind chutney, pomegranate, soy yogurt (optional), oil free roasted peanuts (optional).
