Ingredients:-
- 1 tsp Mustard seeds
- 2-3 tbsp Channa dhal
- 1 tsp spilt urad dal
- 3-4 sprigs Curry leaves
- Green chilies according to your preference
- 4-5 cups of corn grits (I usually get it from the Indian store)
- 2-3 carrots – shredded
- 1/4 cup of shredded coconut (optional)
- Chopped cilantro
- Turmeric powder
- Hot water
Process:-
- Dry roast the mustard seeds, channa dal, urad dal, curry leaves
- Then add corn grits dry roast for 4-5 mins
- After the flame has been switched off add Coconut, carrots, cilantro, turmeric powder, salt to taste.
- Give all the ingredients a good mix
- Add hot water slowly and keep stirring till it binds together.
- Bind into oval shaped or round balls and steam it for about 20-25 minutes
Enjoy with any kind of chutney (today I served it with walnut chutney) but goes best with coconut chutney.
