Oil Free Vegan Ripe Papaya Halwa

Ingredients:-

  • 3-4 cups of ripe papaya
  • 2 cups of date sugar
  • 1-2 cups of plant based milk (I used soy milk)
  • 1-2 cups of water to water down the milk
  • 1 tsp cardamom powder
  • Dry roasted raisins, cashew nuts and poppy seeds

Process:-

  • In a pan sauté the ripe papaya for about 10 mins till the raw smells disappears
  • Then add milk and water and cook for almost 15 mins
  • Add date sugar and cook till almost all the liquid evaporates
  • At the end add the cardamom powder, dry roasted raisins, cashew nuts and poppy nuts.
  • Give everything a good mix and enjoy it warm or cold
