Ingredients:-
- 2 cups of cracked jowar (Sorghum)
- 1 large onion – finely chopped
- 1 tbsp of finely chopped ginger
- 2 carrots – grated
- 1-2 cups of green peas
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tsp spilt urad dal
- 1 tbsp channa dal
- 1 sprig of curry leaves
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- 3-4 tbsp of lemon juice
- Green chillies according to preference
- Salt to taste
- 6-7 glasses of water
- Cilantro
Process:-
- Dry roast jowar till you get a nice aroma (about 5 mins)
- In a separate pot start boiling the water
- In a pan start with the dry tempering of mustard seeds, spilt urad dal, curry leaves, channa dal
- Then add chopped onion, green chillies, ginger – saute for about 4-5 mins
- Then add grated carrots, green peas, turmeric, water, salt
- Cook for almost 20-30 mins till the jowar cooks up
- Add at the end add chopped cilantro and lemon juice.
Serve with dry roasted channa dal or peanuts.
