DIWALI SWEET – APPLE BURFI

Ingredients:-

  • 8 grated apples (I used Gala and golden apples)
  • ½ cup powdered Walnuts
  • 1 packet organic silken tofu
  • 2-2.5 cups of oat flour
  • ½-1 cup of maple syrup (based on your preference)
  • 1 tbsp cardamon powder
  • Few strands of Saffron
  • 1-2 drops of food coloring (optional)

Process:-

  • Saute grated apples along with crushed silken tofu for almost 10-20 mins (Keep sautéing till all the water evaporates)
  • After all the water evaporates add the rest of the ingredients and keep stirring/cooking for another 10 minutes or so. Cook till it forms firm dough
  • Spread on a silicon mat or parchment paper. With the help of flat bottomed small bowl (Katori) to flatten the dough.
  • Cut into desired shape and let it cool before you separate all the pieces.
