Ingredients:-
- 1 medium sized bottle gourd (deskinned and chopped in large chunks)
- 2 medium sized red onions (finely chopped)
- 4-5 medium sized roma tomates (roughly chopped)
- 4-5 cloves garlic (finely chopped)
- 2 cups of Channa Dhal (soak in warm water for at least 15-30 mins)
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/4 tsp Hing (Asafoetida)
- 1 tsp Coriander powder (Dhania powder)
- 1 tsp Chaat Masala
- 1.5 tsp Garam Masala
- Salt to your preference
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds (Jeera)
- Juice of 1 lime or lemon
- Finely chopped cilantro for garnish
Process:-
- Soak the Channa Dhal in warm water
- In the Instant Pot – Switch the Sauté mode and dry roast Cumin/Jeera seeds
- When the cumin seeds are roasting chop all the veggies
- Once the cumin seeds have sauteed then add chopped onion and garlic and saute for 5-7mins
- After the onion and garlic has sautéed add choppped tomatoes, spices and sauté for another 5-7 mins
- Once the tomatoes are sauteed add the Channa dhal and Chopped bottle gourd, add water (about 4-5 cups). Switch off the saute mode in the instant pot and pressure cook the dhal for 5 mins
- Once the dhal is cooked add lemon juice and chopped cilantro leaves
